ZWIN (Zero Waste Initiative): About ZWIN
![]() |
The Zero Waste Initiative (ZWIN) is part of REN (Richmond Environment Network). | |||||
|
ZWIN evolved out of the Richmond-upon-Thames Local Agenda 21 action plan for a sustainable future and has been up and running as a practical project since 1999. ZWIN aims to help charitable organisations and school in the borough of Richmond to develop sound environmental policies in order to reduce energy and water consumption, reduce waste production, encourage recycling and the efficient use of resources. This is achieved through free environmental assessments, which are carried out on-site by trained volunteers. Where ZWIN's recommendations are put into practice, organisationss can benefit from reduced operating costs and improved environmental performance. ZWIN is based at REN's office 6 Phoenix Wharf, Eel Pie Island, Twickenham, TW1 3DY, and the project is run entirely by volunteers. The VolunteersZWIN Managers - Dr Katherine Varvill & Mark Parker Surveyors/Assessors - to be updated soon
