BTCV London

Capel Manor

Capel Manor offers a range of courses in horticulture, gardening, landscaping and forestry management. The main campus is in Enfield but courses take place at other locations in London, including Gunnersbury Park (near Chiswick). The Web site is www.capel.ac.uk.


Environmental Trainers Network (ETN)

ETN offer a range of fairly indepth training courses in a variety of locations countrywide. The ETN course can be found and booked through BTCV's website http://shop.btcv.org.uk/shop/level1/19/level


Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management

IEEM is a professional body which represents and supports professionals in the fields of ecology and environmental management. The web site is www.ieem.org.uk/ IEEM offer a wide range of course in species and habitat management.

Birkbeck University of London - Ecology and Conservation Studies

Birkbeck offer some excellent short and long courses, diplomas and degrees in ecology and conservation studies and a lecture series. Morer information about Birkbecks courses can be found here and the Ecology and Conservation Studies Society, which runs the lecture series here

RCVS ICT (Richmond On-Line Learning)

Volunteers and people involved in voluntary and community groups within the borough are able to take part in subsidized Information, Communication and Technology courses/training online with Richmond Council for Voluntary Service. For a £30 small fee you have access to over 68 courses. Full details can be found on http://www.rcvsict.org.uk/

Ecological Buliding - Kingston (upon Thames) University

The course teaches the creation of healthy, ecologically sound buildings whether you are an experienced builder, architect or lay person. The course will provid learning to enable its leaners the ability to create their own eco friendly home and/or an Edexcel Professional Development qualification. Twickenham & Thames Valley Bee-Keepers Association

We do play a very active roll in the craft of bee-keeping, our current teaching group this winter term has 35 students. During the active bee-keeping season (March to September) groups of student bee-keepers work with experienced tutors on Friday evenings taking care of the Association's beehives, (hands on experience) Please contact Chris Deaves on 020 8 568 2869.
